SoCo Episcopal Update: Week of February 8 2015

Here is what's new with the Soco Episcopal Community:

Sunday Afternoon 4:30pm Service at Opal Divine's Penn Field

We are now getting into the groove of our weekly Sunday afternoon service at Opal Divine's Penn Field.  There is plenty of parking in the parking lot.  When you go inside, head to the private room to the left where we will be gathering.  You can't miss it--it will be the room set up with an altar, lectern, dart boards, and neon Jose Cuervo signs.

We will be worshiping this week with a Liturgy of the Word from the Episcopal Book of Common Prayer.  We finish the service before 5:30pm, and then folks stay, talk, and have dinner if they can.

Please invite friends, family, and neighbors.  All are welcome, no exceptions.

Save the Date: Laundry Love Kid Friendly Service Opportunity  - Thursday February 26th at 5:30pm

The last Thursday of every month we help out friends and neighbors with laundry at SpinZone on Congress Ave. All are welcome to join, and quarters, soap, and snacks are provided. Stop by for laundry, conversation, and some fun!

Donations to the Soco Episcopal Community

We have budgeted $5000 for the Community's expenses for 2015.  Paul Skeith is not paid for his work with the Community.  If you would like to make a donation, all donations to the SoCo Community are being held in a separate fund by St. David's Episcopal Church and are tax deductible.  To make a donation, please click

Sermon 2/1/2015: What Jesus has to do with us

What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth?

The man with the unclean spirit in the Gospel yells this question and challenge at Jesus in the middle of Jesus’ teaching at the synagogue.

This must have put all the congregation on edge.
